My dad does his very best to teach me whats right. I started to resent his “strictness” early on but I am now eternally grateful for that upbringing. Not only am I able to stand on my own in the midst of adversity, but he also taught me to be strong enough to be able to walk against any current. Lord, with Your help, help me keep my fathers work alive in me. Lord help those who are...

Can’t sleep. It really sucks having divorced parents. If you have parents that are still together, hug them and just love them… be a family, encourage your parents to go on dates, plan family bonding trips and just make memories. Do anything you can to keep your family together and happy no matter what. I’m not saying this is what happens but more often than not, families...

Lent for Those Affected by Depression →
For you with a depressive or bipolar condition, instead of giving up candy, cake, or coffee for Lent try giving up the following: • RESISTANCE -to admitting you have a depressive or bipolar condition or seem to be heading for relapse • PRIDE -that says, “I can handle this on my own.  • SHAME -in the belief that you are not good enough or “strong enough” because you have depression or a bipolar...

Reminder: TOMORROW, February 22, is Ash Wednesday
catholicfemininegenius: It is not a holy day of obligation. But as my former pastor would say, it’s a holy day of invitation. Go to Mass. Receive your ashes. Remember that from dust you came and to dust you shall return. Oh, also fast AND abstain from meat. Two different things.

THE PRETZEL IS CATHOLIC!
cradlecatholic: I was doing research on traditional ways of spending lent went I stumbled on this little tidbit. The fasting of this time once even precluded the eating of eggs and fats, so the chewy pretzel became the bread and symbol of the times. They’d always been a Christian food, ever since Roman times, their very shape being the creation of monks. The three holes represent the Holy...

Love. A genuine, pure form is hard to come by when its overshadowed by a world engrossed in itself… and instead becomes disguised in a veil of liberal, pretentious motives. Its the whole playing “hard to get” I don’t get. If we all want it and we all have the ability to express it… why is it so hard BE that kind of love? Some may say I’m scarred… to some...

Meet me at "Love"
pnez: Don’t move towards people. Move towards love. Then stay there.  And wait there. And if someone happens to meet you at the spot where you stand, vulnerable as ever, rest assured that they were moved to, by and for love as well. “But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.  Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care...
